Alexei Viktorovich Vorobevsky (1906-1992) - Honored Artist of the RSFSR, recipient of the State Prize of the RSFSR named after I.E. Repin for creating highly artistic porcelain items. In 1926 he graduated from the Slutsk Art School and began working at LFZ as a painter of porcelain. Participant in international exhibitions since 1927. The master's works are distinguished by their individual style, elegance of miniature painting, light naivety of imagery, harmony of color, drawing, and form. Vorobevsky’s creative work is characterized by references to fantastical and fairytale plots based on motifs of folk art. Often in his works one can see scenes with schematically depicted figures of people, otherworldly colors, trees, buildings, and crystal bridges. In response to questions about how such wonderful plots are born, he replied that he sees them in dreams and then transfers them onto porcelain. Vorobevsky is sometimes called a painter-jeweler for his unique painting technique. His works are held at the Hermitage Museum, the Russian Museum, Kuskovo Estate, Elagin Island Palace-Museum, and other museums and private collections in Russia, the USA, France, Great Britain, and Germany.
