By T.S. Kuchkina. Hand-painted with gilt accents. Height 27.5 cm. In excellent condition, without chips, cracks, or repairs. Lid lost. Taisia Sergeevna Kuchkina (1909–1942) – sculptor. In 1929, she studied sculpture in the workshop-studio of the AHHR (Leningrad). In 1936, she graduated from the Leningrad Institute for Decorative Arts and Design (course of A.T. Matveev). In 1937, she joined the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory as a sculptor. She was the author of genre figures, groups, and compositions. As a monumental sculptor, she created bas-reliefs for the facade of the Khimki railway station on the Moscow Canal. During her short period of creative work at the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory, T.S. Kuchkina created genre sculpture, primarily depicting women and children. In accordance with the tradition of Gzhel porcelain panels, the sculptor treated porcelain as a soft, flowing medium that creates smooth rounded forms.
