The design of the piece incorporates motifs from the hand-painted works of Alexei Vorobyevsky – People’s Artist of the RSFSR and Laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR named after I.E. Repin. The artist's distinctive artistic world embodied a whole era of Russian porcelain. He created over a thousand vibrant pieces, distinguished by a unique style and poetic vision of the world. The artist himself once said: "I invent nothing; it’s all my dreams." Indeed, no two of his hand-painted decorations are alike. Exquisite gold butterflies, fantastical flowers, refined geometric and filigree plant ornaments, taken from Alexei Vorobyevsky's creations, harmonize beautifully on pieces from the Imperial Porcelain Factory (ИФЗ). The service was manufactured at the Imperial Porcelain Factory from bone porcelain. Hand-applied overglaze enameling is used for decoration. The drawing’s author is Alexei Vorobyevsky; the form’s author is Nina Slavina. Production of the piece began in 1993. The service includes 20 pieces: a coffee pot, sugar bowl, 6 cups (160 ml), 6 saucers, and 6 dessert plates.
