The tea set was made at the legendary Imperial Porcelain Factory, which was opened in the second half of the 18th century, in accordance with the old production methods of the company. A unique recipe for each type of porcelain was developed by the scientist Dmitry Vinogradov back in the 18th century for the Elizabethan Porcelain Manufactory (now the Imperial Porcelain Factory).
Each itemis is painted and decorated manually, using the overglaze technique. Unusual paints are used to decorate tableware, such as cobalt oxide (black paint that turns blue after firing in an oven at extremely high temperatures) and super-paint, which is made from liquid gold. Painting is carried out by hand using underglaze and overglaze techniques, as wells as the decal technique.
The main painting on the body of the dishes is protected by layers of transparent glass glaze.
A practical gift option for a general or personal holiday.
This is famous Russian Lomonosov Gold Cobalt Net pattern, also known as the Catherine the Great pattern. These beautiful pieces are decorated with the Gold Cobalt Net design that originated in Russian two centuries ago when it was first made for the Czar's Winter Palace in St. Petersburg. It is unique for its deep blue color accented with gold where each Blue Net line intersects.
The decoration of Cobalt Net , inspired by the service from Elizabeth's period, fitted harmoniously into the delicate tulip shape and produced a wonderfully noble, classically beautiful whole. This service was to become the Lomonosov factory's most recognised pattern, its visiting card.

The Imperial Porcelain Factory (now known as the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory) was founded by Empress Elizabeth in 1744 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Lomonosov Porcelain Factory was the first porcelain manufacturer in Russia to develop and commercially implement the alabaster porcelain technology. This fine delicate porcelain is a more brilliant white than the usual kind, and thin almost to the point of being translucent.
From its first porcelain bear, hand-made by the inventor of Russian porcelain, Dmitry Vinogradov, Lomonosov has continued the tradition of creating life through porcelain. This quality, demanded by the Imperial Romanov Family, can still be found two and a half centuries later, when more than 300 different types of figurines are made at the factory for people throughout the world to enjoy. And every one of them is handmade and hand-painted. It is this special attention to detail of Lomonosov artists which infuses each figurine with life, soul, individuality.
Standards of excellence set by Lomonosov sculptors, such as B.Vorobyev, I.Riznich, P.Veselov received high international acclaim at World Exhibitions in Brussels, New York, London etc.
