22K Gold Cobalt Tea Set 6/20 Imperial Lomonosov Porcelain
This elegant 22K Gold Cobalt porcelain tea set with a magnificent original design will complement any meal - whether it is an ordinary tea party with friends or a holiday feast. A tea set with a hand-molded body of solid, non-porous porcelain. The designs on its surfaces are made with the decal technique, which involves applying a pattern to a porcelain surface from a paper sheet, using gold-based super-paint and cobalt oxide.
The tea set was made at the legendary Imperial Porcelain Factory, which was opened in the second half of the 18th century, in accordance with the old production methods of the company. A unique recipe for each type of porcelain was developed by the scientist Dmitry Vinogradov back in the 18th century for the Elizabethan Porcelain Manufactory (now the Imperial Porcelain Factory).
Each item is painted and decorated manually, using the overglaze technique. Unusual paints are used to decorate tableware, such as cobalt oxide (black paint that turns blue after firing in an oven at extremely high temperatures) and super-paint, which is made from liquid gold. Painting is carried out by hand using underglaze and overglaze techniques, as wells as the decal technique.
The main painting on the body of the dishes is protected by layers of transparent glass glaze.
A practical gift option for a general or personal holiday.

The Imperial Porcelain Factory was founded by Empress Elizabeth in 1744 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The Imperial Porcelain Factory was the first porcelain manufacturer in Russia to develop and commercially implement the alabaster porcelain technology. This fine delicate porcelain is a more brilliant white than the usual kind, and thin almost to the point of being translucent.
From its first porcelain bear, hand-made by the inventor of Russian porcelain, Dmitry Vinogradov, the factory has continued the tradition of creating life through porcelain. This quality, demanded by the Imperial Romanov Family, can still be found two and a half centuries later, when more than 300 different types of figurines are made at the factory for people throughout the world to enjoy. And every one of them is hand\-made and hand-painted. It is this special attention to detail of porcelain artists which infuses each figurine with life, soul, individuality.
Durning the Soviet time the factory became known as the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory (LFZ)
In 2005, Lomonosov Porcelain Factory was renamed to its pre-Soviet name, the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory (IPM)
Standards of excellence set by Lomonosov sculptors, such as B.Vorobyev, I.Riznich, P.Veselov received high international acclaim at World Exhibitions in Brussels, New York, London etc.
