A RARE COLLECTIBLE ITEM
The teapot was manufactured by the Imperial Porcelain Factory from hard porcelain. The form was hand-cast. Overglaze decals and gold gilding were used for decoration. The drawing’s author is Alexei Vorobevsky, the form's author is Serafima Yakovleva. Production of the item began in 1957. An original artist’s model is held in the collection of the State Hermitage Museum. Capacity – 2000 ml, height – 20.2 cm.
The decoration was executed using overglaze painting techniques with overglaze enamels and gold. The surface of all items is divided into rectangles alternating images of fantastic animals and birds with ornamentation from botanical and geometric elements. A broad gold band is applied to the spout of the teapot and handles of the items. By hand, a stroke has been applied with a brush along the edge of all items, a gold ribbon along the foot of all items, at the point where lid holders join.
