Boris Yakovlevich Vorobyov (1911–1990) – sculptor, graphic artist, a distinguished master of the animalistic genre. One of the leading animalier sculptors of the Leningrad Porcelain Factory (LFZ), Honored Artist of the RSFSR. In the 1950s, he created a series of sculptures depicting scenes from the works of N.V. Gogol ("Dead Souls," "The Inspector General") and A.P. Chekhov. He also executed a number of works in the genre of portraiture, as well as nude studies. Vorobyov participated in exhibitions beginning in the 1930s, including international ones. In 1958, he was awarded a silver medal at the World Exhibition in Brussels. His works are held in the State Tretyakov Gallery (GTG), the State Hermitage Museum (GE), the State Russian Museum (GRM) and other museums of Russia, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
