No cracks or chips are present. There is evidence of use; the gilt is worn slightly. Please examine the photographs carefully. You will receive exactly the pair shown in the photos. The "Syreni" (Lily of the Valley) cups occasionally exhibit inclusions resembling black specks. These points occur within the porcelain when the clay used to produce it contains iron oxide impurities. After firing, these resulted in black spots. Efforts were made to remove them using magnets; this provided some improvement but was not entirely effective. The problem was ultimately resolved with electromagnets featuring a stronger field, eliminating the specks altogether – however, this occurred much later than the production period of these cups. It is precisely for this reason that the "Syreni" service is predominantly found in the second and third grades. This does not detract from the beauty or functionality of the cups.
