These beautiful pieces are decorated with the Gold Cobalt Net design that originated in Russia two centuries ago when it was first made for the Czar's Winter Palace in St. Petersburg. It is unique for its deep blue color accented with gold where each Blue Net line intersects. The decoration of Cobalt Net, inspired by a service from Elizabeth’s period, harmoniously complements the delicate tulip shape and produces a wonderfully noble, classically beautiful whole. This pattern became the Lomonosov factory's most recognized design, its calling card. The pattern was designed by A. Yatskevich. The Imperial Porcelain Factory (now known as the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory) was founded by Empress Elizabeth in 1744 in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
