The saucer is approximately 6" (14.6 cm) in diameter. It has an Imperial Lomonosov Porcelain Factory (LFZ) hallmark on the bottoms. Brand new, excellent condition, export quality. This is the famous Russian Lomonosov Gold Cobalt Net pattern, also known as the Catherine the Great pattern. These beautiful pieces are decorated with the Gold Cobalt Net design that originated in Russia two centuries ago when it was first made for the Czar's Winter Palace in St. Petersburg. It is unique for its deep blue color accented with gold where each Blue Net line intersects. The decoration of Cobalt Net, inspired by a service from Elizabeth’s period, fitted harmoniously into the delicate tulip shape and produced a wonderfully noble, classically beautiful whole. This service was to become the Lomonosov factory's most recognized pattern, its calling card. The pattern was designed by A. Yatskevich. The Imperial Porcelain Factory (now known as the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory) was founded by Empress Elizabeth in 1744 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The Lomonosov Porcelain Factory was the first porcelain manufacturer in Russia to develop and commercially implement alabaster porcelain technology.
