During the Soviet era, tableware depicting various flowers, such as roses, daisies, and carnations, was very popular. But the truly legendary service is considered to be the “Syren’” (Lilac) set, which was produced at the Dulevo Porcelain Factory. It was a dream for Soviet citizens and remains a favorite among collectors to this day. The artistic design of this service cannot be called innovative: images of lilac branches are applied to items of the common "Tulip" shape with fluted sides using the decal technique (printing), and the edges are gilded. This motif is known since pre-revolutionary times; it can be found very often on Kuznetsov and Gardner porcelain, as well as on products of other manufacturers. The “Syren’” was produced until the end of the 1960s. Other factories also used this motif in tableware, such as the M.I. Kalinin Konakovsky Faience Factory, the "Proletary" factory, and the "Krasny Farforist" (Red Porcelain) factory, as well as the Riga Porcelain Factory. “Syren’” was depicted on dinner services (as seen in the home of Raisa Zakharovna in the film "Love and Pigeons"). But this tableware was never as popular as the Dulevo tea service.
