The “Porcelain Vase” cup and saucer are part of a porcelain series created by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Tatiana Afanas’eva to commemorate the 320th anniversary of Saint Petersburg. The cup depicts a landscape of the Summer Garden featuring a Porfiry or Elfendal vase located near Karpiev Pond. Made at the Royal Manufactory of Elfdal, the vase was presented as a gift to Emperor Nicholas I by King Charles XIV John of Sweden.
