No cracks or chips are present. There is evidence of use and wear to the gilt decoration. Please examine the photographs carefully. You will receive exactly the pair shown in the photos. The "Syreni" (Lily of the Valley) cups occasionally exhibit inclusions resembling black specks. These points occur within the porcelain body when iron oxides are present as impurities in the clay used for its manufacture, resulting from the firing process. Efforts were made to remove these with magnets, which provided limited success. The problem was ultimately resolved using electromagnets with a stronger field, eliminating the spots entirely – but this occurred long after these cups were produced. It is precisely because of this that the "Syreni" service is predominantly found in the second and third grades. This does not detract from the beauty or functionality of the cups.
