A Rare Addition to a Collection!! Kyiv Form. - Cup diameter 8.5 cm, height 5 cm - Saucer diameter 14 cm Drawing author Ivan Grigorievich Konkov. At the age of 12, Ivan Grigorievich Konkov began studying at the painting workshop of the Dulevo Porcelain Factory with master M.M. Vagin. At that time, the factory still belonged to M.S. Kuznetsov. By the age of 19, he had achieved such skill that he was considered a professional painter. After the October Revolution of 1917, Konkov continued working at the factory. He was one of the oldest artists who enthusiastically embraced the changes in the country and readily executed hand-painted decorations glorifying Soviet power. In the 1920s, before M.M. Adamovich came to the factory, he held the position of head of the painting shop. Konkov most successfully "reproduced" the drawings of M.M. Adamovich, participated in the decoration of items for delegates to the III Congress of the Comintern and the anniversary tableware set “V. RSFSR,” which was presented to V.I. Lenin on the occasion of the first five-year anniversary of the Revolution. At the 1937 World’s Fair in Paris, I.G. Konkov was awarded a gold medal. Along with unique works, the artist completed a large number of samples for mass-produced porcelain. The most beloved motif used by the artist in decorating production items was circular decoration in the form of a belt border with silhouetted depictions of cavalry Red Guards, which he executed in black paint on a white ground. Among the artist's works can be distinguished a plate with a portrait of V.I. Lenin and the inscription: "1917-1927. USSR. 10 Years of October," a tea pair with a silhouetted depiction of cavalry Red Guards, a mug with a silhouetted depiction of cavalry Red Guards, and a plate “Luxurious Poppy.” Exquisite hand-painted decoration, gilt accents, vibrant crimson glaze, elegant classical form. Minor wear to the gilding and microscopic wear to the glaze on the display area of the saucers are present. Overall good condition for their age.

Barinya tea pair from a Dulevo service, USSR porcelain.
