Vintage “Game” (“Suits”) coffee service, “Crystal” shape, Leningrad Porcelain Factory (LFZ). The service pieces are decorated using the decal technique. The imagery is borrowed from a traditional European deck of playing cards. The service includes a coffeepot, sugar bowl, creamer, 6 cups, 6 saucers, 6 plates, and a vase. The author of the service, Nina Pavlovna Slavina (1928–2000), was a painter, sculptor, and chief artist of the Leningrad Porcelain Factory from 1978 to 1985. Works by N. P. Slavina are held in the State Hermitage Museum, the State Russian Museum, and other museums and private collections in Russia and abroad. The Leningrad Porcelain Factory was founded in 1744. It is the oldest porcelain factory in Russia and one of the oldest in Europe. Today it bears one of its former names – “Imperial Porcelain Factory.” The service pieces exhibit minor signs of use.
